Bruins sign Seidenberg to four-year contract extension

BOSTON (Reuters) - German defenseman Dennis Seidenberg has agreed a four-year contract extension with the Boston Bruins, the team said on Saturday.

Seidenberg was acquired by the Bruins from the Florida Panthers at the trade deadline in March and played 17 games for Boston and scored two goals and nine points.

"For the short period of time that I played with the guys it was a lot of fun," Seidenberg told reporters. "Going on the ice in front of a sold out building every night, playing in front of fans who are really knowledgeable, I think made the difference."

Seidenberg has played 374 regular season games with five teams and scored 18 goals, 98 assists and 116 points in seven seasons and played for Germany at the 2002 Salt Lake and 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
