Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden says he feels "like a completely different player" this year

Published January 13, 2015

Associated Press

Brandon Weeden says he's a changed quarterback.

A wide-eyed rookie last year, Weeden says he feels "like a completely different player" as he enters his second NFL season with Cleveland. The 29-year-old had an up-and-down first season, but a coaching change, a revamped offense to suit his strengths and a new outlook have Weeden feeling confident he and the Browns can take a major step forward in 2013.

Browns coach Rob Chudzinski has not yet named Weeden his starter, but the strong-armed former first-round pick has a leg up on Jason Campbell and Brian Hoyer, two experienced veterans signed in case he fails.

Weeden could thrive under the tutelage of offensive coordinator Norv Turner, who has a proven track record of improving young QBs. Turner believes Weeden has all the tools to be successful.
