Broken foot sidelines Blues F Langenbrunner

The St. Louis Blues placed forward Jamie Langenbrunner on injured reserve Tuesday because of a broken foot suffered over the weekend.

Langenbrunner sustained the injury to his left foot in Sunday's 3-1 setback to the hosting Chicago Blackhawks. The 36-year-old logged an assist in the setback in just over 17 minutes of action and is expected to be re-evaluated in four weeks.

Signed by the Blues as a free agent this past summer, Langenbrunner has logged an assist in three straight games and has four goals and 17 helpers through 57 games this season.

A two-time Stanley Cup champion, the Minnesota native is just eight games shy of becoming the 21st American-born player in NHL history to reach 1,100 games played.
