The Milwaukee Brewers signed free-agent pitcher Tom Gorzelanny to a two-year contract on Friday.

The 30-year-old southpaw pitched in 45 games for the Washington Nationals in 2012, all but one out of the bullpen. He was 4-2 with a 2.88 earned run average.

Gorzelanny is very familiar with the NL Central, having also played for Pittsburgh and Chicago. The Cubs traded him to the Nationals in January 2011.

Selected in the second round of the 2003 draft by Pittsburgh, Gorzelanny made his major league debut two years later.

For his career, Gorzelanny is 44-45 with a 4.41 ERA in 193 games (111 starts).
