Bournemouth have made a loan bid for AC Milan forward Stephan El Shaarawy, according to Sky sources in Italy.

The Italy international has been on loan at Monaco this season but, despite finding the net against Tottenham in the Europa League, is yet to score in Ligue 1.

Genoa, Bologna and Fiorentina are also understood to be chasing the 23-year-old, who has won 17 caps for the Italian national side.

El Shaarawy started his career at Genoa but moved to Milan following a successful loan spell at Serie B side Padova. However, he suffered with injuries before his switch to the French top flight last summer.

The Cherries have already secured the loan signing of Juan Iturbe from Roma for the rest of the season.
