Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

A Bolton player says he and several teammates were subject to racist abuse by home supporters during a second-tier match.

Striker Marvin Sordell wrote on Twitter after a 2-1 loss at Millwall on Saturday that the abuse was ignored by police.

Lee Chung-yong, Darren Pratley and Benik Afobe were also targeted, according to Sordell.

Sordell tweeted: "Its 2012 in england and people are still shouting racial abuse at a football game!? (hash tag) Shocking."

The England under-21 international adds "the police were standing yards away and did nothing ... Yes i have reported it."
