Blues allow Brodeur to take leave of absence

St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Blues announced Wednesday that goaltender Martin Brodeur has been granted a one-week leave of absence.

Brodeur officially joined the Blues on a one-year contract back on Dec. 2, but has not played since Jan. 2, a 4-3 loss to the Ducks in Anaheim. He has not even suited up as a reserve for the last five contests.

The 42-year-old, sure-fire Hall-of-Famer had gone just 3-3-0 with a 2.87 goals-against average, .899 save percentage and one shutout in seven appearances this season.

Once Brodeur returns from his respite, his future with the club will be determined.
