Blue Jays' Rasmus comes off DL

The Toronto Blue Jays activated outfielder Colby Rasmus from the 15-day disabled list prior to Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles.

Rasmus, who had been sidelined since Aug. 11 with a strained left oblique, will start in center field and bat sixth when Toronto begins a three-game series with the Orioles on Friday.

The 27-year-old was batting .273 with 18 home runs and 60 RBI prior to the injury, which he sustained while checking his swing during an at-bat against the Oakland Athletics last month.
