Columbus, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Columbus Blue Jackets have signed center Brandon Dubinsky to a six-year contract extension through the 2020-21 season.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Columbus Dispatch on Friday reported the deal to be worth $35.1 million.

Dubinsky notched 16 goals and a career-high 34 assists for 50 points in 76 games last season, his second with Columbus. The Blue Jackets acquired him in July 2012 from the Rangers as part of the deal that sent Rick Nash to New York.

"Brandon brings tenacity and determination to our team every time he takes the ice and he's been an integral part of our growth and success over the past two years," said Blue Jackets general manager Jarmo Kekalainen in a statement Friday. "Thanks to the commitment and support of our ownership group, we are excited that Brandon will continue to be an important part of the Blue Jackets family for many years to come."

Dubinsky has 18 goals and 52 assists for 70 points in 105 games for the Blue Jackets. He has compiled 99 goals and 184 assists for 283 points with a plus-31 rating in 498 games with the Jackets and Rangers.

The 28-year-old Alaska native was selected by the Rangers with the 60th overall pick of the 2004 NHL Draft.
