Blackhawks re-sign Leddy to two-year deal

The Chicago Blackhawks re-signed pending restricted free-agent defenseman Nick Leddy to a two-year contract on Wednesday.

Leddy posted six goals and 18 points while playing in all 48 regular-season games during the lockout-shortened 2013 campaign.

The 22-year-old blueliner participated in all 23 postseason games and tallied two assists during the Blackhawks' triumphant run to their second Stanley Cup title in the last four seasons.

Leddy was drafted 16th overall by Minnesota in 2009, before a Feb. 12, 2010 trade sent the Minnesota native to Chicago, where he's compiled 13 goals and 49 assists in 176 regular-season contests.

In 36 postseason games with the Blackhawks, Leddy has notched one goal and five points.
