Bills LB Merriman to miss Giants game

Buffalo Bills linebacker Shawne Merriman will sit out Sunday's game against the New York Giants.

Merriman missed Friday's practice due to a lingering Achilles injury and was initially listed as doubtful for the contest, but on Saturday was downgraded to out.

Additionally, Buffalo will be without linebacker Chris Kelsay, who sat out last Sunday's 31-24 victory over the Eagles with a calf injury.

Merriman finished the 2010 campaign on injured reserve due to an ailing right Achilles tendon, but has appeared in all five games for the surprising Bills (4-1) this season, recording nine tackles with one sack.

Buffalo has a bye following Sunday's game at MetLife Stadium.
