Bills CB Gilmore inactive for season opener against Bears because of groin injury

Published February 05, 2015

Associated Press

Buffalo Bills cornerback Stephon Gilmore is inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Chicago Bears because of a nagging groin injury.

A two-year starter, his absence is a big blow because the Bears boast two Pro Bowl receivers in Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery. With Gilmore out, former Bear Corey Graham starts at right cornerback for Buffalo.

The Bears are holding out fullback Tony Fiammetta because of a hamstring injury, while Chris Conte starts at free safety for Chicago after missing most of the preseason. He sat out the start of training camp and the first two preseason games recovering from shoulder surgery and suffered a concussion in the third preseason game.
