Published February 05, 2015

Associated Press

The Big Ten baseball tournament is returning to Omaha, Nebraska, in 2016 and 2018.

Commissioner Jim Delany said Tuesday the record-setting attendance for last May's tournament at TD Ameritrade Park amazed him and that he's looking forward to coming back.

The crowd of 19,965 for the championship game between Indiana and host Nebraska ranks as the largest single-game conference tournament attendance mark in NCAA history. The five-day total attendance was more than 62,000.

The 2015 tournament will be at Target Field in Minneapolis. The site of the 2017 tournament will be announced later.

The 24,000-seat TD Ameritrade Park is home of the College World Series.
