Lake Forest, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Bears have re-signed offensive lineman Eben Britton, the team announced Tuesday.
Britton, a five-year veteran who has played in 50 career NFL games, had been released by the Bears during final roster cuts on Aug. 30.
The 26-year-old appeared in 13 games with four starts for Chicago last season. Britton spent the previous four years with the Jacksonville Jaguars, starting 23 games at right tackle and seven at left guard.
Wide receiver/return specialist Micheal Spurlock was released to make room for Britton on the 53-man roster.
Spurlock had one catch for eight yards in Sunday's season-opening loss to Buffalo.
