Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Houston's Brad Peacock has been scratched from Friday night's scheduled start due to right forearm soreness.

To replace Peacock, the Astros called up left-handed pitcher Rudy Owens from Triple-A Oklahoma City to make his major league debut when the club takes on the Seattle Mariners.

Peacock, 26, began the season in the Astros bullpen before making his last six turns in the rotation. In his last start, he picked up his first win of the season, tossing 6 2/3 innings and allowing two runs en route to an 8-2 win over the White Sox.

Peacock is considered day-to-day with his injury.

Owens, 26, has pitched all season with the RedHawks, making 10 appearances, including seven starts.

To make room for Owens on the active roster, the Astros optioned right-handed pitcher Josh Zeid to Oklahoma City Thursday night.
