LISBON, Portugal (AP) Arouca jumped to the lead of the Portuguese league on Sunday by beating Benfica 1-0 thanks to a goal by Roberto just three minutes in the match.
Arouca, a small club from northern Portugal, reached six points and is the only team with two wins in the league's first two rounds.
Benfica could have opened an early gap to its main title rivals after FC Porto and Sporting Lisbon were both held to 1-1 draws on Saturday. All three teams had won their opening games.
Also Sunday; Boavista defeated Tondela 1-0, Estoril beat Moreirense 2-0 and Vitoria drew Belenenses 1-1.
