Fayetteville, AR (SportsNetwork.com) - Bobby Portis scored 22 points and No. 18 Arkansas raced out to a huge lead before nearly faltering late in its 81-75 win over Texas A&M on Tuesday.

Anthlon Bell added 14 points and Alandise Harris and Rashad Madden gave 11 apiece for the Razorbacks, who moved two games up on Texas A&M for second place in the SEC behind undefeated Kentucky.

"We just got stagnant on offense," Bell said of the second half. "They killed us on the boards."

Arkansas (23-5, 12-3) has won seven straight games.

Danuel House's 28 points weren't enough for the Aggies (19-8, 10-5), who had won three straight games and 10 of 12 after opening conference play with two losses.

Arkansas set the tone with a 10-0 run to open the game. House and Kourtney Roberson each committed two turnovers during A&M's horrific start.

The Razorbacks' lead increased to 33-9 midway through the first half, and it was 49-26 at halftime.

But the game changed after intermission. Texas A&M achieved its scoring output from the first half in the first nine-plus minutes of the second, netting 27 points in 9:17 to pull within 66-53.

Runs of 10-0 and 7-0 later in the period had the Aggies within two with a minute and a half to play. But Madden and Harris each made a pair of free throws around four missed shots and a missed free throw by A&M.

Game Notes

Arkansas scored 27 points off 21 turnovers. A&M had just four points off 10 turnovers ... Led by Jalen Jones' 13, Texas A&M won the rebounding margin 44-23 ... Roberson had 14 points for Texas A&M, while freshman Alex Robinson added 11 off the bench.
