Angels avoid arbitration with Callaspo

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have agreed year contract with infielder Alberto Callaspo, avoiding arbitration.
The 28-year-old Callaspo hit .288 with six home runs and 46 RBI in his first full season with the Angels in 2011.
Callaspo is a career .281 hitter with 27 homers and 204 RBI in 595 games with the Diamondbacks, Royals and Angels.
He's mostly played third base in the big leagues, but has also seen time at second, shortstop and the outfield corners.
