St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Jake Allen made 24 saves to record his second career shutout and backstop the St. Louis Blues to a 2-0 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night.

Alexander Steen and Ryan Reaves scored for the Blues, who posted their third straight win despite playing without two key forwards. David Backes and T.J. Oshie are sidelined indefinitely with concussions.

John Gibson turned aside 27 shots for Anaheim, which has dropped two of three following a seven-game win streak.

"Our giveaways were immense out there," said Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau. "Unforced errors, that's the thing that bugs you."

The Blues grabbed a 1-0 lead 4:29 into the contest. A point shot by Carl Gunnarsson hit Steen and changed direction on Gibson.

"We know they have that big first line, but we match of well against them," said Gunnarsson.

Reaves made it 2-0 at 2:03 of the third period. Anaheim defenseman Cam Fowler fanned on a pass in his zone, leading to Reaves beating Gibson high over the glove on a wrist shot from the slot.

Maxim Lapierre preserved the shutout in the late stages, sweeping the puck off the goal line.

Gibson was already on the bench when Blues defenseman Barret Jackman went off for holding with 50 seconds to play. St. Louis survived the extended 6-on-4 advantage to snap a four-game losing streak to Anaheim.

Game Notes

The Ducks were 0-for-4 on the power play, while the Blues finished 0-for-3 with the man advantage ... Anaheim has lost seven of its last 10 trips to St. Louis.
