Alex McGough throws 3 TDs, leads FIU past Old Dominion

MIAMI (AP) -- Alex McGough threw three touchdowns and ran for another to lead Florida International to a 41-12 win over Old Dominion on Saturday night.

McGough completed 31 of 39 passes for 390 yards for the Golden Panthers (4-4, 2-2 Conference USA). Two of his TD passes went to Jonnu Smith, who had 183 yards receiving. Alex Gardner ran for a score.

McGough threw one touchdown in the first quarter and ran for another in the second. An Austin Taylor field goal gave the Golden Panthers a 17-6 lead with 4:13 left in the first half.

Another Taylor field goal and a 38-yard touchdown pass from McGough to Clinton Taylor had FIU up 27-12 in the third quarter. In the fourth, Gardner ran it in from a yard out and McGough hit Smith for a 13-yard score to make it 41-12.

David Washington finished with 125 yards passing for the Monarchs (3-4, 1-2).
