Alcorn State is bringing the so-called Soul Bowl back to campus.

After 18 years of playing its Southwestern Athletic Conference game against Jackson State in the capital city of Jackson, Miss., Alcorn State has exercised the right to bring this year's home game back to its campus and Jack Spinks- Marino Casem Stadium on Nov. 17.

"As an Alcorn alum and now administrator," Alcorn State athletic director Dwayne White said Tuesday, "I know firsthand the importance of hosting prospective students and high school athletes on campus to allow them to see the quality of the facilities. Alcorn has a beautiful campus with lots of new construction that never get showcased by playing annually in Jackson."

Moving the Capital City Classic from Jackson also will save money for Alcorn State. The game did not have a corporate sponsor.

Jackson State won last year's game, 51-7.
