A goal from Christian Eriksen in the 68th minute handed Ajax a 1-0 win over Twente on Saturday at the Amsterdam Arena, ending Twente's perfect start to the Eredivisie campaign.

The game failed to produce much in the way of scoring chances, but Eriksen made the most of his opportunity by scoring on a long-range effort to provide the difference.

Twente remains on top of the league with 18 points, one point clear of second- place Vitesse, while Ajax is third on 15 points.

Vitesse closed to within a point after securing a 2-1 win at Utrecht on Saturday as Marco van Ginkel and Bonno Wilfried scored five minutes apart for the visitors before a consolation goal from Jacob Mulenga.

Heerenveen won for the first time this season, claiming a 2-0 home victory over NAC with first-half goals from Alfred Finnbogason and Daniel De Ridder, while Feyenoord rolled to a 5-1 triumph against NEC with Lex Immers scoring a second-half hat trick and Graziano Pelle tallying two goals in the opening 45 minutes.

The other match on Saturday saw Den Haag and Heracles play to a 3-3 draw as Willy Overtoom converted two penalty kicks for Heracles. But his brace was canceled out by a two-goal effort from Danny Holla, who scored the equalizer for Den Haag in the final 20 minutes.
