After blowing big lead at NC State, Seminoles turn attention to cleaning up mistakes

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher said the Seminoles have to execute better than they did in a stunning loss at North Carolina State.

The Seminoles led 16-0 at halftime, but the Wolfpack rallied and went ahead on a 2-yard fourth-down touchdown pass with 16 seconds left in the 17-16 victory.

The loss knocked Florida State from third to 12th in The Associated Press Top 25 poll.

The Seminoles made plenty of mistakes in the game, including squandering all three second-half timeouts and giving up a blocked punt to set up the Wolfpack's winning drive.

Quarterback EJ Manuel said the Seminoles have to finish drives better, too. They got to the end zone just once and twice settled for first-half field goals on drives that reached inside the 20.
