Abraham reports to Cardinals' camp

Tempe, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Arizona Cardinals outside linebacker John Abraham was present at the team's facility Thursday after missing nearly the first three weeks of training camp to attend to a personal matter.

The Cardinals had excused Abraham from the start of camp to deal with the issue, which the team did not disclose. Phoenix radio station KGME reported, however, that the veteran pass rusher had checked into a rehab facility for an alcohol problem.

Abraham had been arrested for driving under the influence in Georgia in late June.

Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians told reporters on Thursday that Abraham, who led the Cardinals with 11 1/2 sacks last season, will be re-installed with the first-team defense once he's ready to begin practicing.

The NFL's active leader with 133 1/2 career sacks, Abraham added 37 tackles and four forced fumbles while playing in all 16 games last season, his first with Arizona after spending the previous seven years with the Atlanta Falcons.
