2016 candidate Jeb Bush: I don't find Redskins team name offensive

Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder has mostly amassed detractors in his quest to hold on to the Redskins team name, in spite of its racist undertones. Snyder has found a supporter in 2016 Presidential candidate Jeb Bush.

"I don't think the team should change it," the former Florida governor said on SiriusXM's "The Arena., per the New York Daily News. " "I don't find it offensive. Native American tribes generally don't find it offensive."

"We had a similar kind of flap with FSU if you recall, the Seminoles, and the Seminole tribe itself kind of came to the defense of the university and it subsided. It's a sport for crying out loud. It's a football team. Washington has a huge fan base," Bush added. "I'm missing something here I guess."

Contrary to Bush's opinion of how Native American tribes view the team name, reality tells a different story. Several Native American groups have protested the name in the past and will continue to do so until it is changed. If Bush is elected the next President of the United States, we can safely say that Congress won't play any role in the name change.
