15th-ranked Tigers look to push forward after finding success despite missing star Watkins

Clemson offensive coordinator Chad Morris wasn't worried about his players' emotional wellbeing heading to Boston College — until he watched them go through a ho-hum, pregame warmup session.

The 15th-ranked Tigers (4-1, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), though, quickly put Morris at ease in a 45-31 victory that capped a challenging week for Clemson.

The Tigers were reeling from their lone loss on Sept. 22 after No. 3 Florida State overcame a two-touchdown deficit to drop Clemson from the top 10. Then last week, Morris lost All-American receiver Sammy Watkins to an abdominal virus that kept him on campus.

But the offense responded.

Quarterback Tajh Boyd threw for three touchdowns and ran for another. Receiver DeAndre Hopkins had a school record 197 yards in receptions.

Clemson hosts Georgia Tech on Saturday.
