Retired MLB All-Star slugger Adam Dunn recently powered his way through the purchase of a new home near Houston. Dunn, a Texas native, purchased an English manor -- style home in affluent Piney Point Village earlier this month.

It's unclear how much the slugger paid for the home, although the property was listed in February for $5,995,000.

The six-bedroom manor features vaulted wood-beam ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and wide-plank wood floors.

The kitchen has an antique ashwood ceiling, adding a rustic element to the modern, open layout. It shares space with a living area, which features a brick wall, fireplace, and circular chandelier.

One of the home's six bathrooms features French doors next to a marble tub, presenting the option for al fresco bathing.

Other spaces in the home also blur the line between the indoors and outdoors. Next to the kitchen is a covered patio with a vaulted ceiling and open archways.

The home was built by Midani Homes, a luxury residential building company operating in the Houston area. Dunn retired after the 2014 season. He slugged 462 home runs during his 14-year career in Major League Baseball.
