Panthers Tight End Greg Olsen Selling $1.7M North Carolina Mansion

Four years after buying and heavily renovating this mansion in Waxhaw, NC, Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is ready for another run at the local real estate market. He and his wife, Kara, have put their sprawling country club home up for sale at $1.7 million.
The couple bought the brick-and-stone-faced Old World-style house in 2012 during a short sale, according to listing agent Giles Barker. Built in 2005, the house wasn't in bad shape, but the Olsens wanted to put their own mark on the 6,600-square-foot home. Some of the couple's touches include installing coffered ceilings, turning the butler's pantry into wine storage, and "repositioning the master bathroom," Barker says.
"They changed it from a traditional style to an elegant contemporary style," Barker says. "It makes the house feel like it's new construction."
Barker declined to comment on why the Panthers star decided to sell, but he said Olsen was sticking around the area, which makes sense, since the Pro Bowl tight end signed a three-year, $22.5 million contract in March 2015 to stay in Carolina. Perhaps when he settles into a new house, the tall target will start to grow his magnificent beard once again.
