Musician Neil Young Is Saying 'Aloha' to Compound on Hawaii's Big Island

"Heart of Gold" singer-songwriter Neil Young is selling a tropical retreat that's golden in its own right. He's listed his Hawaiian estate for $24.5 million, according to Bloomberg.
The 2-acre slice of paradise comes with a 4,530-square-foot bungalow, two guest cottages, a pool house, and 830 feet of ocean frontage on the Kohala Coast. What can we say but, "Hey hey, my my."
In true rock-star fashion, the compound is located on a "private, lush peninsula between two ocean bays," according to the listing. "It's one of the best locations along this entire coastline," listing agent Carrie Nicholson says.
Spacious and inviting verandas overlook the ocean. The property also boasts a bounty of edible fruit trees, including lemon, papaya, pomelo, mango, and coconut.
According to the agent, the legendary musician has owned the Big Island retreat for over 20 years. Young told Parade magazine in 2012, "When I'm at my house in Hawaii, I love to be in the water. I love to paddleboard and just hang out with friends."
At this point, he may love an enormous payout for the property even more.
