Cut! Director Carl Franklin Is Selling Zen-Inspired Hollywood Hills Home

Carl Franklin, the newly appointed director of the upcoming (and long-delayed) Tupac Shakur biopic, is selling his home in the Hollywood Hills for $2.5 million.
Built in 1942, this house is all about privacy and relaxation. It's situated on a quarter-acre near the end of a dead-end street, and shrubs and trees next to a low wall create a privacy barrier.
Inside, the four-bedroom home features large windows with wood trim, exposed wood beams, hardwood floors, and a conversation pit.
The design of the two-story home, which was renovated in 1980, appears to be modeled after the Zen principles of simplicity and naturalness.
Outside, the home features a large deck, pool, and patio area, which overlooks the surrounding hillside.
A meditation spot, situated at the side of the house, is accessible from the dining room. Up front, there's a Zen garden with an avocado tree and meditation hut.
The prolific auteur has a number of directorial credits under his belt, including an episode of HBO's "Rome," four episodes of Netflix's "House of Cards," and the 1995 film noir "Devil in a Blue Dress."
