President Obama will welcome French President Nicolas Sarkozy for meetings and a private dinner at the White House in late March. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs announced the visit during Tuesday's briefing saying the two leaders would discuss issues of mutual concern such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Middle East peace efforts, and global economy.
A communique released by the French government says Presidents Sarkozy and Obama will hold a joint press conference in addition to their other events. President Sarkozy is expected to bring his wife, former Italian model Carla Bruni, for dinner with President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.
