Trump on meeting with black pastors: 'I saw love in that room'

Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump emerged from a private discussion with roughly 100 black evangelical leaders Monday claiming it was "an absolutely amazing meeting."

The meeting, held at Trump Tower in New York City, lasted over 2.5 hours and functioned as a brainstorming session of sorts, according to the outspoken billionaire.

"We came up with lots of good ideas, lots of future ideas," Trump told reporters during an impromptu press conference shortly after the meeting concluded, despite his campaign cancelling a news conference they had previously planned.

"There are deep-seated difficulties that certain communities have and we're going to address them. Certainly, if I'm put in a position where I can do something about them, which is as president, I'm going to address them," Trump said.
