Three Things to Watch in Tonight's Main Debate

By Timothy P. Carney, Timothy P. Carney

Published December 20, 2015

1) Donald Trump will attack Ted Cruz, his closest rival. Ted Cruz has made it clear he doesn't want to punch back, but instead to bear hug Trump. How will this look?

2) Rand Paul has recently been running as a message candidate, training more fire on his ideological opposite Marco Rubio than on his rival for voters, Ted Cruz. Will tonight he campaign for votes, or hit his message?

3) Jeb Bush has done poorly in all the debates. At the moment, it's hard to see him winning any primaries. Can he turn things around?
