Shots were fired near Vice President Joe Biden’s home in New Castle, Del., the Secret Service said Sunday.

Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, were out for the evening at the time and the shots were fired outside the security perimeter that surrounds the home.

According to the Secret Service, a vehicle sped by the home and fired gun shots from a public road. An agent stationed outside the home heard the shots and saw the car speeding away. The agents are now working with local police to determine who fired the shots and have arrested someone who attempted to pass a county police officer securing the perimeter of the crime scene.
