Senate confirms bevy of U.S. ambassadors

Lawmakers often pass dozens of bills as the congressional year draws to a close, and on Wednesday the Senate decided to clear several ambassadors nominated by President Obama earlier this year.

The group was cleared to take office by a unanimous consent in the Senate, which means lawmakers did not have to individually vote on any of the nominees.

Here's the list:

Catherine Ebert-Gray, ambassador to the independent state of Papua New Guinea
G. Kathleen Hill, ambassador to the Republic of Malta
John D. Feeley, ambassador to the Republic of Panama
Eric Seth Rubin, ambassador to the Republic of Bulgaria
Kyle R. Scott, ambassador to the Republic of Serbia
Todd Chapman, ambassador to the Republic of Ecuador
Jean Elizabeth Manes, ambassador to El Salvador
Linda Swartz Taglialatela, ambassador to Barbados, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda and the Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines
