Poll: Just 27 percent say the country is on the right track

Election Day 2016 couldn't come soon enough for a majority of Americans unhappy with the nation's direction.

Just 27 percent of Americans believe the country is heading on the right track, identical to where it stood right before the Nov. 2014 midterm elections, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

A plurality also believe the political system in disarray, as 54 percent claim politics are stacked against them.

President Obama's job approval rating was at 45 percent, a 1 percentage point drop since the last poll was conducted.
