French bombings against ISIS expected to increase

The Pentagon expects France to increase strikes as part of the coalition against the Islamic State once its aircraft carrier arrives in the region.

Col. Steve Warren, spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolve, said on Wednesday said "I do expect overall percentage of French contributions will grow," when the carrier Charles de Gaulle arrives in the Middle East, Warren told reporters via video teleconference from Baghdad.

The Charles de Gaulle is expected to sail to the Middle East on Wednesday in a deployment planned prior to last week's attacks in Paris, according to reports.

The U.S. has conducted more than half of anti-Islamic State strikes since the campaign began. The French have conducted 12 percent of the non-U.S. strikes, Warren said.
