Feinstein: Clinton 'broke no law' in email controversy

Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California said Sunday that she is certain Hillary Clinton did not violate any laws through her involvement in the growing email controversy that is engulfing her campaign.

"Hillary Clinton broke no law," Feinstein said on ABC's "This Week," referring to the findings of a report released last week by the State Department's inspector general. "The conclusion of the report does not say that. What it says is that the department does not handle these electronic platform operations well and needs to do better."

The report said that Clinton "did not comply with the department's policies" when, as secretary of state, she used a personal email server for her electronic communications and declined to turn over many of her messages when her tenure ended.

The report also said that federal authorities were unaware that Clinton was using a private server for her emails.
