Clinton adviser called Axelrod Romney campaign 'adjunct'

Hillary Clinton's unofficial adviser Sidney Blumenthal complained to the secretary of state that the Obama administration was too critical of Newt Gingrich and helpful to Mitt Romney.

According to the latest batch of emails released by the State Department, Blumenthal was outraged that the Obama adviser David Axelrod slammed Gingrich, saying that by doing do Axelrod was "acting as an adjunct to the Romany campaign."

In an all-caps rant, Blumenthal argued that the administration shouldn't help the strongest Republican challenger to Barack Obama. Axelrod had said, "Remember the higher a monkey climbs up a pole, the more you can see his butt ... now that Gingrich is climbing, we'll see how people like the view."
