Apple says 'no' to GOP convention

Technology giant Apple is saying "no" to funding, or providing any tech support, for the GOP's 2016 presidential convention due to what the company believes is Donald Trump's racist and misogynist rhetoric.

The firm has contributed in the past, but it appears Trump's controversial comments have pushed it over the line, reports Politico on Saturday.

Apple has informed the Republican leadership of its decision. Politico cites two unnamed sources familiar with the iPhone maker's plans.

The firm is bucking the trend among other tech companies that have said they would give next month's convention some support. Facebook, Google and Microsoft have all said they will provide some level of support to the convention in Cleveland.
