The broadcast networks energetically predicted doom for the Republicans during the fall campaign. And they got their wish. The dramatic blue wave – with the most dramatic shock coming in Texas – caused a wave of positive coverage.
On Wednesday morning, Nov. 4, you might expect any winning candidate who gets interviewed is going to receive soft questioning, a form of congratulations. But you might be a little surprised by the fountains of gush.
On ABC, former Clinton press secretary George Stephanopoulos was teeing up Texas Sen.-Elect James Talarico with this: "You said you want to pursue a politics of love. For a lot of Americans who may be hearing you for the first time this morning, spell out what that means."

Talarico happily complied: "Yeah, I think we are all tired of this politics of division, this politics of hate, this politics of fear. I’m tired of being pitted against my neighbor. I’m tired of being told to hate my neighbor."

It's really annoying when Democrats like Talarico or former President Barack Obama accuse the Republicans of seeking to "divide us" even as they suggest the Republicans are evildoers who only care about billionaires. Campaigns are won by dividing people. That's how it works. Does anyone think ABC, CBS and NBC were practicing a "politics of love" and unity leading up to the elections? Not if they were watching TV.
TIM GRAHAM: THREE-TO-ONE NEGATIVE COVERAGE TELLS THE STORY OF NETWORK BIAS
Over on "CBS Mornings," the hosts were gushing over Kansas Sen.-elect Adam Hamilton, pastor of a Methodist megachurch. Norah O’Donnell asked, "I know you have promised to bring the biblical Golden Rule to D.C., as you have said, ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ Have you been to Washington? That place is pretty cutthroat. How are you going to do that?"
Gayle King echoed that, oozing, "so many people are really happy to hear you talk about decency and kindness, pastor, because when we were talking to people, they said they’re sick of ... the vulgarity, the crassness, and you said that — people were very touched to hear yesterday that you start your day on your knees and you’re in prayer."
Nate Burleson rounded out the lovefest: "Senator-elect, that was beautiful — being a vessel for the Lord and also being a bridge for the people. Well, let’s talk about it because it’s time to get to work. So, I guess I’ll ask you about the genesis of your work and then what the revelations will be later." When the professing Christians are Democrats, suddenly religion is a wonderful thing. Laugh when they claim the new Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss has changed the tone of CBS.
Speaking of religion, Michigan’s Sen.-elect Abdul El-Sayed was promoted as the first Muslim to be elected to the Senate, and the networks all read from the same song sheet that he was attacked by Republicans for "his faith." Forget the campaigning with podcaster Hasan "America Deserved 9/11" Piker, or El-Sayed signing a petition calling for a purging of the media in Egypt by the Muslim Brotherhood. It was just cartooned into ignorant prejudice, an Islamophobic attack on Muslims. They touted how he overcame it to make history:
FIRST MUSLIM SENATOR, FIRST BLACK FEMALE GOVERNOR: 2026 MIDTERM ELECTION RESULTS MAKE HISTORY
ABC’s Mary Bruce: "Abdul El-Sayed becoming the first Muslim elected to the U.S. Senate after President Trump launched Islamophobic attacks on his faith."
CBS’s Nikole Killion: "Abdul el-Sayed is making history this morning as the first Muslim ever elected to the U.S. Senate. In his speech overnight, he shot back at his critics, including his GOP opponent, Mike Rogers. He said this was one of the ugliest campaigns he’s been in and accused his opposition of trying to divide voters by mocking his name and his faith."

NBC’s Ryan Nobles: The Democrat won "after a bitter and contentious campaign Republicans accusing El-Sayed of anti-Semitism after his criticism of Israel and the Democrat facing personal attacks over his faith, including from President Trump."
It's really annoying when Democrats like Talarico or former President Barack Obama accuse the Republicans of seeking to "divide us" even as they suggest the Republicans are evildoers who only care about billionaires.
Liz Landers on PBS: "He'll become the first Muslim ever elected to the Senate and withstanding ugly campaign attacks on his faith, including when the president called him a jihadist."
DEM AG PULLS OFF UPSET OF SITTING REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR AFTER BLISTERING CAMPAIGN IN KEY SWING STATE
Speaking of making history in terms of diversity, on Wipeout Wednesday night’s "PBS News Hour," anchor Geoff Bennett celebrated his list of electoral "historic firsts," but his recap left out Florida electing its first Black governor – perhaps because Byron Donalds is a Republican. They highlighted radical socialist Melat Kiros of Colorado as the "first Generation Z woman elected to Congress," but not the Black governors, which also included Democrats Aaron Ford in Nevada and David Crowley in Wisconsin.

Speaking of so-called "public" broadcasting, National Public Radio happily interviewed Mao-loving, Hamas-backing Hasan Piker on Wednesday morning, touting him as a "progressive" influencer of young males. Piker proclaimed that "virtually every locality, every state, every House district decided to punish the Trump administration and the Republican Party for the death and destruction it's brought about all around the world." The election results, Piker said, pleased him after it "almost felt like this country was far more vicious, far more racist than it actually was."

According to our elitist media networks, democracy has only truly flowered when Democrats win, and when they do, suddenly America is no longer considered viciously racist. That’s quite a "Thank You" card.
