Tuberculosis testing interrupts Ohio school's spring break

A northeast Ohio school associated with a probable case of tuberculosis is opening during its spring break week so that families associated with the facility can get health care screenings.

The Jennings Community Learning Center serves middle-school students in the Akron school district. Hundreds of students and workers from the school are expected to undergo free skin testing this week to look for signs of exposure to tuberculosis.

Administrators and health officials have notified students' families that there's a low chance of the airborne respiratory illness spreading from person to person, though it can be transmitted through coughing if people are sharing air space for a long period.

Officials haven't released details about the person believed to be infected.
