A German hospital says a Ugandan doctor it treated after he contracted Ebola while working in Sierra Leone has been cured and discharged.

Frankfurt's University Hospital said Thursday that the man, whose name hasn't been released, was released on Nov. 19 and is now with his family. He was admitted on Oct. 3 and was critically ill for a time.

The man is the second Ebola patient to be treated successfully in Germany. In early October, a scientist who was infected with Ebola while working for the World Health Organization in Sierra Leone was discharged from a Hamburg hospital.

The only other Ebola patient treated in Germany was a U.N. medical worker infected with Ebola in Liberia who died at a Leipzig hospital in mid-October.
