A Sterling Heights, Mich., man credited his dog for saving his life, MyFoxDetroit.com reported.

Joe Kossack said he was walking his 2-year-old Golden Retriever earlier this month when he passed out — and loyal Kaylie licked him until he woke up.

"I started getting real dizzy and getting tunnel vision and that, and the next thing I remember she's in my face licking me and whining, laying her head on my chest and that, and trying to revive me," Kossack said.

He unexpectedly passed out two more times in the coming days. Each time, his dog would stand by his side until he recovered. Kossack said he eventually decided to go to the doctor to find out what was wrong — and was diagnosed with a deadly condition that causes him to lose consciousness when he turns his head a certain way.

He is set to undergo surgery soon to fix the problem.
