Starbucks is testing weekened brunch at select locations

The smell of fall is already in the air with the official return of Pumpkin Spice Lattes. Now sweets lovers have another reason to get excited for Starbucks this fall: brunch. The coffee chain is testing a rollout of Belgian waffles as part of a new project called Weekend Brunch.
The sweet waffle topped with berries and powdered sugar was discovered as a menu item in Portland, Oregon, by blogger Starbucks Melody.
Starbucks confirmed Tuesday this was a test for approximately 70 Starbucks locations in the Portland and Seattle areas. It’s part of the coffee company's new brunch menu featuring more freshly baked items that include a baked French toast and quiche.
But the menu is only available on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., or until supplies run out.
But the waffle-- and other brunch items-- aren't made to order. Like the rest of the coffee chain’s food and baked goods, they’ll arrive each morning and be stored inside the display case.

Still, the verdict on the waffles, according to Starbucks Melody, is that they “are the perfect combination of sweet, crunchy, and flaky.”
