Paula Deen is back on the TV and back in the kitchen.
After launching a mobile game and debuting her digital broadcast network, the “Queen of Southern Queen” has started hawking branded food items like chocolate butter sticks on shopping network Evine.
But her comeback tour wouldn’t be complete without a new place for fans to flock. Deen’s restaurant, Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. is set to open Monday, April, 27.
According to a press release, the restaurant is set to serve up “family style…big ol’ bowls” of Southern classics like fried chicken, collards, fried okra, corn and sweet potatoes.
The 20,000 square foot location is a true mecca to Southern cooking, housing both the new restaurant and The Paula Deen Store-- which includes a replica of her kitchen, and any cooking utensil needed to whip up a true comfort food feast. The store will host samplings and personal appearances by the former Food Network star herself.
The Island in Pigeon Forge retail complex is already home 60 other shops and restaurants including Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville and Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery.
Once you’ve had your fix of greens and butter cake, head on over to neighboring Dollywood, Dolly Parton’s resort and theme park, also in Pigeon Forge. Just make sure your food digests before hitting the roller coasters.
