Reba McEntire stopped by "The Talk" on Wednesday and was asked how she is coping with the recent death of friend and country legend, Merle Haggard.

As she told the ladies on the show, McEntire finds solace that Haggard will live on through his music, which she listens to frequently on her iPod.

“We have so much music,” shesays. “We’re saturated with music and social media. We are reminded at these times, although they’re sad, we’ve got that of them that will live with us forever.”

“The songs that Merle Haggard and Prince and Glenn [Frey] gave us, it’s music that I have on my iPod, on my phone that I love to listen to and I will have their memory with me forever,” she adds.

McEntire remembers the first time she met Haggard and admits that she was, well, terrified.

“I got to work with Merle. I was scared to death the first time I opened the show for him,” the fiery redhead confesses. “We were in catering and somebody came in and said, ‘Merle’s in the room.’ I said, ‘Okay. Good.'”

She recalls that people were confused that she didn’t want to meet him, assuring her that he’s a great guy.“What if he’s a jerk?” she asked.

Later, she came to meet him and he was by no means a jerk to her. “He’s a sweetheart of a guy. Absolutely fell in love with him as everybody did and we miss him tremendously,” McEntire shares.

While on "The Talk," she also opened up about being a grandma for the seventh time, calling daughter-in-law Kelly Clarkson a “supermama.” Clarkson and husband Brandon Blackstock welcomed a baby boy, whom they’ll call Remy, on April 12.

“She loves those babies,” McEntire gushes. “Remington joins River, his older sister and his older brother Seth and Savannah, his oldest sister.”

“I love them all to pieces. They’re great kids.”
