It will likely be “several days” before more information is released regarding the sudden death of Prince.
Prince died on April 21st after he was found unresponsive in the elevator of his Minnesota home.
On Sunday evening, Carver County Chief Deputy Jason Kamerud sent an update to the press regarding the mystery that still surrounds Prince's cause of death.
“I’ve received several inquiries about additional case information,” Kamerud stated in an email. “I don’t have any new case information to share at this time and I’m not expecting to have anything new for several days.”
An autopsy was conducted Friday. Then, some of Prince's "most beloved" family, friends and musicians celebrated his life in a small, private service on Saturday after his remains had been cremated.
Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson said Prince's body had no signs of violence. Olson also said there was nothing to suggest it was suicide.
After his death at age 57 questions are swirling over whether the music superstar had been hiding serious health problems from his fans. Though he had a reputation for clean living, rumors have also swirled that Prince could have been struggling with substance abuse.
Prince's death followed a series of canceled shows and a reported emergency plane landing for medical treatment.
