POLL: Was the New York Times Too Harsh on Guy Fieri's New Restaurant?

The New York Times really let Guy Fieri have it. The host of "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" recently opened a 500-seat, multi-level restaurant in New York City's Times Square, and his efforts were met with especially harsh criticism.

Times' restaurant reviewer Pete Wells delivered a scathing review of Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar, in which he directed a series of questions at Fieri: "Did you eat the food? Did it live up to your expectations?" he asked, later adding, "When you hung that sign by the entrance that says, WELCOME TO FLAVOR TOWN!, were you just messing with our heads?" Wells then went on to attack nearly every appetizer, entree, dessert and cocktail he ordered.

Fieri has since taken it upon himself to fire back, appearing on the "Today" show to defend his restaurant and staff. "To me, it's impossible to have a dining experience and have every single thing wrong — unless you come in with a different agenda and you want to sensationalize something and you want to blow it out of the water," suggested Fieri in the interview. Fieri also noted that Guy's has been open for just two months, and it's too new for a fair judgment. "That's tough times, especially this size of a restaurant," he said.
