Perhaps Louis C.K. should meet with the Russian ambassador.

In “The Moth Presents All These Wonders: True Stories About Facing the Unknown,” he writes about a 1994 trip to Russia after suffering burnout as a writer for “Late Night With Conan O’Brien.

”On a subway, he watched a man with a broken shoe call over a street urchin.

“There was a tube of shoe glue in [the kid’s] hand. He handed it to the guy, and the guy fixed his shoe with the glue and gave it back to him. Then the kid — his other hand had a paper bag in it — and he put the glue in, and he huffed it . . . and he got high . . . The misery in this country at that time was so palpable.”

The book is out March 21.
